Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer

Booz Allen Hamilton•Suffolk, VA
•$86,800 - $198,000

About The Position

Advance Modeling and Simulation (M&S) capabilities by integrating AI-enabled models that support complex wargaming and operational decision-making for the DoW. Apply software engineering principles to design, develop, and deploy scalable simulation components; create realistic behavioral and environmental models; and integrate diverse data sources to produce high-fidelity outcomes. Collaborate with analysts, domain experts, network orchestrators, and other engineers to ensure models represent real-world conditions and meet evolving mission needs. Apply full-stack engineering skills to shape the technical vision for next-generation M&S systems. Evaluate new frameworks, improve simulation performance, and implement architectures designed for future extensibility through a federation of tools. Contributions will help clients explore scenarios, assess alternatives, and derive insights from complex simulation environments.

Requirements

  • Experience developing software in Java, C++, C, or C#.
  • Experience with version control, documentation practices, and GitLab workflows.
  • Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of the Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) networking protocol.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient source code for new applications and enhance existing codebases.
  • Ability to support the evaluation, selection, and integration of M&S tools.
  • TS/SCI clearance; applicants are subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • High school diploma or GED.
