About The Position

KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This position involves supporting the CAPE Joint Data Support (JDS) Division. CAPE JDS is a multi-source funded and OSD CAPE managed organization responsible for identifying, collecting, developing, analyzing, managing, and disseminating historical, current, and future years U.S. and Non-U.S. forces inventory, capabilities, and deployment data. This data supports collaborative study teams guided by the Analysis Working Group (AWG). JDS develops standardized data products and analytic tools for Joint analytic efforts focused on Senior Leader decision support and also supports AWG led SCI/SAP/SAR studies and analyses. The Modeler will contribute to studies of combined and joint military operations across the spectrum of war, including theater campaigns and operations other than war. The objectives of these studies include course of action analysis, operational planning, time-phased force deployment data, feasibility assessments, identifying and managing operational risk, determining force requirements, and developing tactics, techniques, and procedures for tactical and operational problems. Analysis is performed using widely accepted military combat models and simulations, and all-source intelligence.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance to be considered for the position.
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Eight (8) years of experience designing and executing analysis using DoD modeling software with expertise in either Synthetic Theater Operations Research Model (STORM) and/or Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM).
  • Eight (8) years of demonstrated modeling and quantitative analysis experience in support of DoD force sizing, shaping, and capability analysis.
  • Eight (8) years of experience leveraging analytical and computational methods (e.g., modern statistics, differential equations, linear algebra, predictive analysis).
  • Eight (8) years of experience employing object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, C#, R, MATLAB, Simulink) and database management systems (e.g., SQL server, MYSQL, Oracle, MS Access).
  • Detailed knowledge in military doctrine, planning & operational employment of forces - combat arms, combat support, & combat service support.
  • Broad understanding of military command & control and force structure at the unified & specified level (joint commands) to the joint planning process & mission analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Support studies of combined and joint military operations conducted across the spectrum of war, from theater campaigns to operations other than war.
  • Provide support to gaming activities.
  • Interpret, synthesize, and present results & recommendations to senior military/civilian decision makers.
  • Employ & maintain selected models and simulations (to include their data bases) specifically designed to analyze some aspect of military operations.
  • Lead & manage interdisciplinary study teams conducting studies of a scope and nature expected of a theater level command.
