About The Position

The Modification Center Lead is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the Modification Center’s production areas. The successful candidate will be results focused with a high level of technical aptitude and the ability to coordinate with multiple parties to achieve results. This position also requires a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to foster a culture that embraces change. You must have the ability to problem-solving skills, comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a production environment, Associates Degree preferred.
  • Excellent electrical/mechanical aptitude with maintenance/modification experience.
  • Strong critical reasoning skills with the ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Microsoft office and PC skills with ability to review and update Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to make sound decisions regarding resource utilization and needs.
  • Aptitude for teambuilding and employee engagement.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Results-oriented, process improvement focused.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve outstanding results.
  • Experience using ERP Systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Ability to drive a forklift: Reach Truck, Order Picker and/or Turret Truck.
  • Frequently lifting/moving up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. is required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for directing the day to day activities of production personnel.
  • Performing 5S audits and implementing improvements.
  • Reviewing production workload and shifting personnel accordingly.
  • Proactively coordinate customer service to ensure delivery commitments are met.
  • Responsible for tracking department “line level” metrics (Safety, Quality, Throughput).
  • Lead production area daily team meetings.
  • Enforce department safety guidelines and company Policy, working with department supervisor to address/resolve any disciplinary issues.
  • Act as the first level of escalation for problems identified by Technicians.
  • Ensure department equipment is maintained and proper shutdown procedures are followed.
