About The Position

As a Modification Technician I, you will be responsible for servicing the daily material handling needs of the Modification Center for completing the daily production of motor and generator modifications. This position requires very strong mechanical aptitude along with a quality control-oriented mindset. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and is an effective communicator. You must have problem-solving skills and the ability to comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong technical aptitude, knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems a plus.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical repair (wire connections, bearing installation, etc.) required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Critical reasoning skills with the ability to identify problems and communicate the issues effectively.
  • Strong computer skills (ERP system – Oracle, MS Office)
  • Ability to utilize common pneumatic and electric tools required, welding experience a plus.
  • Must be able to understand and follow detailed instructions, skillfully identify and prioritize problems and elevate them to supervision.
  • Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.
  • Ability to continually lift or pull with a force up to 50 pounds.
  • Results-oriented, process improvement focused
  • Language: English (Spanish/English) a plus

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for picking components and moving material associated with modifications.
  • Responsible for stocking and staging product.
  • Responsible for packaging orders for shipment.
  • Responsible for Nameplate, Quality check modifications.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work area and following departmental 5S guidelines.
  • Responsible for identifying defects and reporting errors in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize available software and other technical systems that impact job performance.
  • Backfill other team members as required.
  • Other duties as assigned
