About The Position

The Urban League of Rochester seeks a full-time Mobility Mentor to provide mobility mentoring and motivational interviewing for clients participating in the Mobility Mentoring Program. The role works directly with clients and supports the Director of Family Services with program reporting and related duties.

Requirements

• Minimum bachelor's degree with a background in case management, mobility mentoring, or motivational interviewing.
• Knowledge of mobility mentoring is required.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in client interactions.
• Demonstrated ability to independently meet deadlines and fulfill supervisors' requirements.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects and assignments, often with competing deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of the dynamics of race and class within the political economy of contemporary urban America.
• Competency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, and Excel.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of case management.
• Experience in civic engagement or financial planning.
• Bilingual ability in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Family Services with monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as requested by the Program Planning, Research and Evaluation Department.
• Participate in recruiting clients for the Mobility Mentoring Program.
• Work directly with assigned clients, including conducting intake appointments, developing life plans, conducting motivational interviews, providing referrals, and following up with clients.
• Participate in case conferencing.
• Participate in training and orientation.
• Maintain client files as instructed by the Director of Family Services.
• Establish and maintain rapport with referral organizations and program partners, and follow up on and monitor referrals.
• Attend Urban League of Rochester functions and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Family Services.
