About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring a veterinarian to provide in-home hospice and euthanasia care in Jacksonville, Florida, and surrounding areas. The privately and family-owned organization emphasizes professional independence, compassionate end-of-life medicine, and support from a team that coordinates appointments, families, and aftercare. Hospice experience is not required; support is offered for veterinarians transitioning into this field. The role is available in 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-day schedules, including full-time and part-time opportunities. Four-day positions start at $90,000 annually, and five-day positions offer a $105,000 annual base salary, with additional quarterly performance-based bonus opportunities. Two- and three-day and self-managed flexible scheduling opportunities have prorated compensation based on the agreed schedule. Benefits vary by position and eligibility.

Requirements

DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree.
Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility.
Valid driver's license.
Compassionate approach and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care.
Availability consistent with the position's schedule, including some weekends.
