Full-Time Mobile Veterinarian
About The Position
Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice is hiring a full-time mobile veterinarian in Suffolk County, New York, and surrounding communities, including Smithtown, Ronkonkoma, Huntington, Lindenhurst, Bay Shore, and West Islip. The veterinarian provides compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families in their homes. The role offers an alternative to in-clinic practice, with flexible schedules, typically three to five days per week, and an average of three to four unhurried appointments per day. Veterinarians work independently in the field while remaining connected to a community of more than 400 veterinarians and support professionals. Lap of Love provides comprehensive onboarding, personalized mentorship, access to experienced leaders, and a 24/7/365 Support Center. Compensation varies by schedule: four-day positions start at $117,500, and five-day positions offer a $140,000 base salary, with additional bonus opportunities. Three-day full-time and part-time opportunities are also available with prorated compensation.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, or BVMS degree.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Availability to work some weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Candidates must undergo a background check and motor vehicle record check after hire and before their associated start date.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hospice and euthanasia care for pets and their families.
- Conduct mobile appointments in clients’ homes.
- Provide an average of three to four appointments per day.
