About The Position

Clean Harbors in North Canton, Ohio, is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Mechanic to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on company fleet vehicles and equipment at branch locations throughout the area. The position requires travel within an assigned territory and compliance with company safety practices and PPE requirements. The mechanic will inspect equipment, address deficiencies, perform preventive maintenance, complete required tracking paperwork, and maintain the applicable driver status for the mobile vehicle type.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of prior experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
• At least 1 year of DOT inspection experience.
• Provide own basic tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% within the assigned territory.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime, as required.
• Ability to assess vehicle condition through inspections, scheduled preventive maintenance, and diagnostic tests; identify worn or damaged parts; and replace parts as needed.
• Ability to pass background, drug, and physical tests upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, and prioritize health and safety in all work.
• Correct equipment deficiencies and perform preventive maintenance on company-owned equipment as directed by management.
• Thoroughly inspect equipment and identify unsatisfactory conditions.
• Wear mandatory PPE during all work-related activities and tasks.
• Travel to other locations as needed to repair and maintain equipment.
• Complete and submit paperwork required to track preventive-maintenance schedules.
• Maintain active light-duty or DQ driver status appropriate to the mobile vehicle type.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by management.
