About The Position

The Mobile Unit Driver PRN is responsible for preparing the coach, powering up equipment, and ensuring doors and ramps are ready for patient use. This role involves preparing equipment for transport to and from sites, maintaining accurate mileage and fuel purchase records, and adhering to DOT regulations for driver logs. The driver must observe safety and security at all times, obey traffic laws, and maintain a valid CDL, clear driving record, and valid medical examination. The position also requires understanding and providing records pertaining to the tractor trailer, assisting management with record keeping, and notifying service personnel when necessary. Additionally, the driver will assist clinical partner(s) with patient care and other duties as requested, including exam setup, linen replacement, coil selection and placement, supply preparation, and cleanup. Proficiency in using software systems for monitoring patient histories, reviewing screening forms, and managing documentation is also required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Clean driving record.
  • 3 years experience in driving tractor/trailers.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification.
  • Maintain a valid driver license, Class A CDL.
  • For those driving Mercyhealth vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
  • For those driving their personal vehicles: Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation with proof of vehicle insurance when requested.
  • Have and maintain an acceptable driving record per Mercyhealth's HR.100 Fleet and Driver Safety policy.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Order processing systems.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to lift equipment that is needed to maintain and ready the equipment and well as assisting patients on and off the exam table and ramp.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clinical partner(s) with patient care and other duties when asked.
  • Assist with exam set up; replace linens, coil selection and placement, supply preparation, clean up.
  • Use software systems proficiently to assist in monitoring patient histories prior to appointment dates, review patient screening form, import/scan documentation, and export as necessary.
