About The Position

Cox Fleet Services is offering a unique opportunity through its FleeTec Academy, a paid educational program designed to train individuals for a career as a Trailer Technician. This program aims to provide comprehensive training in trailer maintenance and repair, including a set of hand tools and a toolbox, without the burden of traditional technical school tuition debt. The program involves five weeks of full-time schooling at an Academy Campus, with travel, accommodation, meals, and a paycheck covered. Upon completion, participants receive hands-on training from a Lead Technician and are offered a full-time position as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic. The role involves performing preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations using a state-of-the-art mobile vehicle. Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to study hard for five weeks of full-time schooling.
  • Dedication to being away from home for the initial training period.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older due to interstate operating authority regulations.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must hold a valid state-of-residence driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain their Driver Qualification File.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical. If the DOT medical card has four (4) months or less of validity remaining, a DOT physical will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance and general repairs on trailers at customer locations.
