About The Position

Cox Fleet keeps your fleet moving! Cox Fleet is the leading provider of on-site mobile maintenance and repair services nationwide, offering mobile on-site fleet service for light medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers. This is an opportunity for a career as a Trailer Technician through the FleeTec Academy, a paid educational program that leads to a path to becoming a full-time Trailer Technician. The program provides free education on the fundamentals of Trailer Repair, along with a set of hand tools and toolbox. The program includes 5 weeks of full-time schooling at the Academy Campus, with travel expenses, hotel accommodation, and a stipend for meals paid by the company. Upon completion, you will be paired with a Lead Technician for hands-on training and offered a full-time job as a Mobile Trailer Mechanic. Mobile Technicians are assigned a state-of-the-art vehicle to perform vehicle repairs at customer locations, focusing on preventative maintenance and general repairs onsite.

Requirements

  • Desire to start a career as a Trailer Technician and become a Mobile Mechanic.
  • Willingness and ability to study hard.
  • Ability to dedicate 5 weeks away from home for training.
  • Maturity to focus on the task at hand.
  • Technical aptitude and a passion for fixing vehicles.
  • Ability to operate an iPad.
  • Must be at least 21 years or older.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education is preferred but not required.
  • A current and valid DOT medical card with more than four (4) months remaining until its expiration may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical.

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site mobile maintenance and repair services for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and general repairs at customer locations.
  • Utilize a state-of-the-art vehicle equipped for repairs.
  • Participate in 5 weeks of full-time paid classroom training at the Academy Campus.
  • Undergo hands-on training with a Lead Technician.
  • Attend further classroom study periodically for skill development.
  • Adhere to regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
