About The Position

Responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guidelines at various locations away from the main shops.

Requirements

  • Experience with trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments.
  • Proficiency in using power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair various truck systems.
  • Ability to create and open work orders.
  • Ability to create and maintain weekly schedules.
  • Ability to maintain proper parts inventory.
  • Ability to schedule, maintain, and report on vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to maintain correct time punches and work order processes.
  • Ability to maintain efficiency standards and attendance policy.
  • Knowledge of OEM warranty procedures.
  • Ability to test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Ability to inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
  • Ability to keep work area clean and free of debris.
  • Ability to keep customer vehicles clean during and after repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
  • Ensures that repairs are completed in a complete and accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
  • Communicate with customers to understand their repair needs and advise of required repairs.
  • Create and open work orders.
  • Create and maintain weekly schedule of repair locations.
  • Maintain proper parts inventory on road service repair vehicles.
  • Schedule, maintain and report all maintenance for road service repair vehicles.
  • Maintain correct time punches and work order processes.
  • Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
  • Tags all parts as required and follows all warranty procedures set for the by each OEM
  • Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges
  • Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
  • Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
