Mobile Phlebotomist
About The Position
The Mobile Phlebotomist works directly for Metro Health’s patient care operations, completing in-home blood draws for patients matched within the phlebotomist’s surrounding area. This is a PRN, as-needed independent contractor role intended to provide supplemental income. The position has no set shifts, no full-time commitment, and no required minimum or maximum hours or guaranteed number of draws. Phlebotomists set and update their own availability through an online calendar. When a patient requests a draw in their area during an available time, they receive an offer and may accept or decline it. The role pays $50 per completed draw, plus mileage compensation when applicable. Patient demand is concentrated on weekday mornings and early afternoons, with little to no current demand for evening, weekend, or holiday draws.
Requirements
- Active phlebotomy certification.
- At least six months of current, relevant work experience, in addition to instructional hours completed while obtaining certification.
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
- Fluency in English.
- A smartphone with internet access.
Responsibilities
- Set and upload available time slots to the calendar.
- Update availability as needed without maintaining a set schedule.
- Review matched in-home blood draw offers and accept or decline them.
- Complete accepted in-home blood draws.
