About The Position

Work directly for Metro Health’s patient care operations, performing in-home blood draws as an independent contractor on an as-needed basis. This part-time, PRN role offers flexible scheduling: phlebotomists set and update their own availability, receive notifications when patients nearby request draws during available times, and may accept or decline each offer. There are no required minimum or maximum hours, no guaranteed number of draws, and no set shifts. Patient demand is concentrated on weekday mornings and early afternoons, with little to no demand for evening, weekend, or holiday draws. Compensation is $50 per completed draw, plus mileage when applicable. The role is designed to provide supplemental income around other work, school, or family commitments.

Requirements

• Hold an active phlebotomy certification.
• Have at least six months of current, relevant work experience, in addition to instructional hours completed while obtaining certification.
• Have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
• Be fluent in English.
• Have a smartphone with internet access.

Responsibilities

• Set and update availability by uploading open time slots to the calendar.
• Review patient draw offers and accept or decline them.
• Complete accepted in-home blood draws.
• Use reliable transportation to travel to patient locations.
