About The Position

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, CGL offers customized services to meet the evolving security needs of private and public sector clients, including uniformed guards, mobile response and support, by-law enforcement, and identification services. This posting is for an upcoming vacancy for a Commissionaire to join their growing team. The role requires a commitment to serving clients and employees, which enhances the organization's success.

Requirements

Must hold a Valid Ontario Security Guard License.
Valid WSIB accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
Use of Force certification.
Must have undertaken Escalation and conflict resolution training.
Full G class license and Clean Drivers Abstract
Be able to obtain a Level II (Secret) Security Clearance- minimum 10 Years of Residency in Canada
Must be able to complete CGL’s Use of Force Level II Class
Good Computer skills especially with MS Office suite and at least Security management software.
Minimum 2 years of Mobile security guarding experience
Will be required to drive a company vehicle for the entire shift and conduct site checks and calls for assistance

A diploma in Police Foundations
Post Secondary Certificate
Prior Use of Force experience

Responsibilities

Conduct property patrols of client locations, in accordance with site instructions.
Respond to and investigate alarm calls when dispatched.
Conduct Private Property Parking Enforcement at client locations, in accordance with City by-laws and site procedures.
Conduct ATM escort duties as required.
Operate company patrol vehicle in accordance with company policy and HTA regulations.
Enforce the Trespass to Property Act when required.
Liaise with Police, Fire, EMS as appropriate during incidents.
Complete patrol and incident reports utilizing reporting software, and paper reports as required.
Maintain professionalism at all times, during all interactions.
Be responsible for the care and upkeep of company vehicle and all assigned equipment during your shift.
Undertake all training assigned to you in a timely fashion.
Report concerns or complaints received to Supervisor or Manager.
Be available to adjust schedule as required to accommodate the needs of the patrol team.
Perform 'stand downs' at client locations to ensure continuity of guard service, as requested by supervisor or manager.
Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor or Manager.
