As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government corrections environment, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and individuals at a government correctional location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and help deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as required, and maintain awareness of activity involving staff, visitors, residents, and vehicles.
  • Document patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
