Responsible for traveling to different locations to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on semi-truck trailers and tractors, including tasks like brake adjustments, tire replacements, electrical troubleshooting, basic structural repairs, and more, all while working out of a service truck and adhering to strict safety regulations. This role involves general repairs on tractor and trailer units in accordance with DOT, federal and state regulations and company standards. The mechanic will use technical publications or automated systems for maintaining vehicles to prescribed manufacturers’ maintenance schedules and for researching parts. All maintenance and labor performed must be properly annotated in the maintenance management software.
