About The Position

This is a Direct Hire Authority solicitation to recruit qualified candidates for a competitive-service position. The role is a Military Technician position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 16, in Los Alamitos, California. The position requires active membership as a Soldier in the U.S. Army Reserve and a Class A commercial driver's license within 180 days of employment. A medical examination, background investigation, and drug testing are also required.

The employee services automotive, heavy mobile, and powered support equipment; replaces automotive parts; takes oil samples; and performs preventive maintenance. Other duties include operating motor vehicles to transport supplies, maintaining warehousing reports, and loading and unloading shipments. The position involves working in a shop and warehouse environment, with physical activity and exposure to potentially adverse indoor and outdoor conditions.

Requirements

• Maintain active membership as a Soldier in the U.S. Army Reserve before a start date can be set.
• Obtain a Class A CDL within 180 days of employment.
• Complete a personnel security investigation and meet suitability or fitness requirements.
• Meet Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
• Complete a medical examination before employment.
• Demonstrate, through experience, sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work without more than normal supervision.
• Have experience working in a shop environment and assisting with tasks such as servicing automotive equipment; applicants must be capable of meeting deadlines and priorities set by higher-level supervision.
• Provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
