About The Position

Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance, or designee, the Servicer is responsible for daily servicing of Pace vehicles. Duties include fueling and cleaning vehicles, maintaining proper fluid and fuel levels, supporting the out-stationed bus fleet, and servicing vehicles and equipment. The position also includes farebox tasks, vehicle parking and spotting, routine cleaning, and custodial work in buildings and grounds. Work is performed in a garage and outdoors, with exposure to loud noises, noxious odors, and inclement weather. Duties may be required 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round. This is a safety-sensitive position and is not eligible for a hybrid schedule or telecommuting. The position is bargained-for and subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of previous experience in diesel and gasoline vehicle repair and/or relevant technical school training.
• Must have, or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire, a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger and air brake endorsements.
• Must be able to operate all company equipment and have knowledge of the service area.
• Must be capable of lifting 75 pounds to waist height and maintaining and carrying that weight for a minimum of ten feet.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record fuel and fluid information.
• Support the out-stationed bus fleet and operate and service the washrack/cleaner.
• Empty farebox vaults and take farebox readings.
• Park and spot vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain bulletins, flyers, and other materials on vehicles.
• Routinely clean vehicles, buildings, grounds, and equipment used in performing the duties.
• Perform building custodial duties, including snow removal, cleaning, painting, and groundskeeping.
• Complete all required documents and reports for work performed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
