About The Position

As a Mobile Equipment Manager with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing mobile equipment in the southeast. This includes managing plant production, fleet operations, staff supervision, safety compliance, quality assurance, budgeting and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in aggregates, leadership skills to manage multiple teams, and a focus on continuous improvement

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical degree in Diesel Technology or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of diesel equipment maintenance experience in an industrial, construction materials, or manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment diagnostics.
  • Experience working in a plant or multi-site operational environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and fleet tracking tools.
  • Proven history of Maintenance and Repair Experience with mining and construction mobile equipment from CAT, Komatsu and John Deere with diagnostic systems
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance and repair of mobile diesel equipment including loaders, haul trucks, forklifts, and other plant support vehicles.
  • Develop and drive preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and support production goals.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of diesel mechanics and technicians across assigned locations.
  • Partner closely with plant managers and operations teams to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including OSHA, DOT, and company-specific policies.
  • Monitor equipment health, utilization, and maintenance KPIs; implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, control costs, and optimize parts inventory and procurement processes.
  • Coordinate third-party vendors and service providers as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure audit readiness at all times.
  • Support capital planning by evaluating equipment lifecycle, replacements, and new equipment needs.
