About The Position

HealthDrive is hiring a Mobile Dentist to provide geriatric dental care in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and long-term care facilities in the Roanoke/Lynchburg, Virginia area and surrounding communities. This mobile position offers full-time or part-time schedules, with opportunities to work up to five days per week. HealthDrive provides a dental assistant and concierge support from its dentist provider support team. Dentists can guide the desired number of patients per day to support their income goals or work-life balance. The role includes daily travel within the assigned service area and may require significant driving distances.

Requirements

• D.D.S. or D.M.D.
• Current state professional license.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive significant distances on occasion.
• Dental background with proficiency in assessing, treating, managing, and evaluating dental care.
• Ability to work independently on a daily basis.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to use an EMR, text, email, and the internet, and to learn other healthcare-related software.
• Self-starter attitude and desire to deliver quality, thoughtful, and attentive care.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift.
• Ability to transport mobile dental equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.
• May occasionally be required to transport patients in wheelchairs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive examinations and regular dental care.
• Provide examinations, restorative care, routine extractions, denture fabrications, relines, and repairs.
• Complete required patient and clinical documentation in the proprietary electronic medical record system.
• Apply proper coding guidelines and enter appropriate billing codes for services provided.
• Follow OSHA guidelines for patient care, disposal of materials, and equipment sterilization.
• Travel to patient care locations throughout the assigned service area.
