About The Position

Haleon is currently seeking an MMF - Fixed Machine Mechanic class 2B/2A – Central Operator to join the Montreal (Saint-Laurent) team. This role is responsible for ensuring the compliance and proper functioning of fixed machinery installations at the Haleon Montreal plant. The operator will manage, monitor, and maintain thermal and utility systems (steam, compressed air, ventilation, etc.), adhering to regulatory standards, quality policies, and health and safety rules to ensure an optimal, safe, and industry-compliant production environment. The Montreal plant is a manufacturing site for liquid, solid, and semi-solid health products, involving complex regulatory factors, technical processes, and high-risk activities.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in French is required for effective communication and adherence to operational and regulatory standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Fixed Machine Mechanic training recognized by the ministry (certificate required).
  • Holder of an MMF 2B or 2A license.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC systems and other utility systems.
  • Knowledge of building energy management.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain compliance with standards and regulations applicable to fixed machinery installations.
  • Ensure adherence to quality rules by following GMP regulations, corporate policies, and compliance standards during operations.
  • Operate and monitor pressure vessels, steam boilers, chillers, air compressors, and other related equipment according to provincial law on fixed machinery.
  • Monitor systems controlled by the BMS and ensure maintenance of conditions conducive to production, in compliance with standards.
  • Perform maintenance and repair of systems related to the thermal plant (steam, condensate, compressed air, ventilation systems, purified water, etc.).
  • Actively participate in the maintenance and improvement of the site through proper system maintenance and optimal operation of the thermal plant.
  • Always respect health and safety at work (SST) rules and procedures during task execution.
