About The Position

AMD is hiring an ML Compiler Engineer in its AI software development group. The role focuses on developing next-generation compiler tools for the Vitis-AI and Ryzen-AI software platforms, enabling machine-learning networks to be compiled for AMD devices featuring its proprietary AI-engine architecture. The engineer will help build a new compiler from the ground up alongside senior developers and domain experts in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, collaborating with geographically distributed engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in C++.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with a compilation stack for a custom hardware accelerator.
• Knowledge of MLIR and its dialects.
• Prior experience using a modern source control system such as GitHub.
• Knowledge of machine-learning model structures.
• Experience with AI agents for development or qualification tasks.

Responsibilities

• Apply data-driven and structured approaches to analysis and optimization.
• Contribute to AMD innovation, algorithms, and architectural design changes.
• Develop relationships with technical leads and peers.
• Debug, analyze, and resolve existing issues, and explore more efficient alternatives.
• Work with senior developers and domain experts to build a new compiler.
