About The Position

The Mixing Setup Technician is responsible for optimizing the change-over process in Mixing and fine-tuning equipment to increase production consistency and reliability. This role involves performing machine change-overs and set-ups for optimal machine uptime and consistency, developing and implementing guidelines for optimum setups on each machine, and performing minor repairs on equipment such as photo eye adjustments, slitter blade adjustments, gripper hook ups, loop lengths, and belt tracking. The technician will also help design and maintain Mixing process flow and layout optimization, perform machine inspections to identify and prevent major breakdowns, and assist in training machine operators and six sigma project implementation. Additionally, the role requires monitoring and adjusting for customer complaints, assisting with carbon delivery issues, communicating shift issues to the on-coming technician, and ensuring all ESH procedures, policies, and legal requirements are implemented and monitored. Any other tasks deemed necessary by Mixing management may also be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED and 1 year Continental Manufacturing experience or 2 years mechanical experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position

Responsibilities

  • Optimize the change-over process in Mixing and to fine tune the equipment in order to increase production consistency and reliability.
  • Perform machine change-over and set-ups for optimum machine up time and consistency.
  • Develop and implement guidelines for optimum setups on each machine with regard to stock being produced.
  • Perform minor repairs on equipment: For example – photo eye adjustments, slitter blade adjustments, gripper hook ups, loop lengths, belt tracking etc…
  • Help design and maintain Mixing process flow and layout optimization.
  • Perform machine inspections to identify and help prevent major breakdowns.
  • Assist in the training of all machine operators in Mixing.
  • Assist in six sigma project implementation.
  • Monitor and adjust for customer complaints such as: poor stacking accuracy, slitter accuracy, etc..
  • Assist in carbon delivery issues mainly from day bin to mixer.
  • Must communicate to on-coming tech any issues faced during shift.
  • May be required to stay over or come in early for shift coverage.
  • Ensure all ESH procedures, policies and legal requirements are implemented and monitored.
  • Any other tasks deemed necessary by Mixing management.
