About The Position

Operates all equipment related to the mixing of raw materials. This position exists to ensure the proper mixing of raw materials according to established procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

Minimum High School or equivalent work experience.
Adequate sight, hearing, and use of limbs to safely operate powered vehicles (e.g., forklifts and sweepers).
Sight capabilities to distinguish proper product identification, warning and operational indicators, and accuracy/neatness of job assignments.
Hearing capabilities to distinguish differences in warning alarm indicators and standard operation indicators.
Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling capabilities to handle job requirements.
Balancing to maintain body equilibrium.
Ability to verbally communicate with other employees.
Ability to hear and understand verbal communication (face to face or via telephone).
Ability to see and understand written communication.
Ability to confirm by sight the quality level of raw materials.
Ability to climb and descend ladders or steps.
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and carry up to 30 feet.
Must be able to operate a forklift truck.
Ability to push and/or pull up to 2500 pounds up to 30 feet with the aid of material handling equipment.
Ability to walk through, under, and around equipment with a clearance of 30 inches.
Ability to feel objects, textures, size, and shape, and to determine temperature by touching.
Ability to grasp and use tools (manual as well as powered) in a safe working manner.
Sight capability to safely operate at arms length machinery, power, and/or hand tools.

Works under the direction of the shift foreman.
Works within J-M guidelines and policies of J-M Eagle.

Responsibilities

Sets up and operates all equipment related to the mixing of raw materials.
Operates hand and power trucks when necessary.
Accurately weighs ingredients of each to ensure consistent composition of all batches.
Maintains proper temperature of mixing times, etc., to produce quality mixtures of raw materials.
Records all required data on inventory, usage, mixing conditions, etc.
Performs operations in receiving raw PVC resin, including opening hatches, attaching ventilation filters, connecting receiving hoses, activating pumps, adjusting material flow, and diverting resin.
Measures PVC raw resin bins and blends silos and reports to Foreman.
Reports unsatisfactory operating conditions in equipment to Supervisor.
Keeps equipment and working area clean and orderly.
Uses safe working practices and reports hazardous conditions at all times.
Trains inexperienced employees on the job as required.
Directs the activities of another when assigned.
Substitutes for absentee workers and performs other miscellaneous jobs as directed.
