Mission Christmas HQ Co-ordinator
About The Position
The Mission Christmas HQ Co-ordinator supports the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas gift appeal from the Melrose HQ during November and December. The role coordinates the operation of the HQ, where donated gifts are received, sorted and prepared for collection by local partner organisations. It involves managing volunteers and drivers, liaising with drop-off points and partner organisations, and communicating with people and groups fundraising or donating to the campaign. The co-ordinator also gathers photo, audio and video content for Bauer Media radio stations, social media and digital platforms. The role includes moving and lifting gifts. A current, full, clean UK driving licence and personal transportation are required. Cash for Kids is Bauer Media’s UK charity. It supports disadvantaged children and young people affected by poverty, illness, neglect or additional needs, working with grassroots organisations and directly supporting families. Mission Christmas aims to help ensure that every child wakes up to a present on Christmas morning.
Requirements
- Basic knowledge of Office applications.
- Understanding of the main social media platforms.
- Passion for helping children experience the joy of opening a present at Christmas.
- Organised, flexible and enthusiastic, with a love of Christmas.
- Current, full, clean UK driving licence.
- Own transportation.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the smooth operation of the Mission Christmas HQ, including receiving, sorting and preparing donated gifts for collection.
- Manage a team of volunteers.
- Manage drivers collecting donated gifts from key locations across the area.
- Liaise with Mission Christmas drop-off points.
- Liaise with partner organisations, including social services and children’s services teams, refuges, schools and other organisations helping gifts reach children in time for Christmas.
- Communicate with individuals, community groups, schools and businesses fundraising or donating to Mission Christmas.
- Collect photo, audio and video content for radio stations, social media and digital platforms.
- Move and lift gifts.
