About The Position

Young Life is seeking a Mission Assistance Representative to join their Mission Services team. This role is crucial in supporting the organization's mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. The representative will act as the first point of contact for donors, parents, friends of Young Life, and Young Life staff and volunteers, providing efficient, professional, and Christ-like support. This involves handling inquiries via phone and email, managing donor information, providing technical support for online giving, processing donation-related requests, and assisting with database maintenance. The position requires a strong commitment to Young Life's Christian purposes and adherence to their statement of faith and policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Some customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in highly technical software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pay extreme attention to detail and handle daily multi-tasking.
  • Excellent professional communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Successfully prioritize and accomplish tasks in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Internet navigation skills.
  • Must be a team player.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.

  • Must subscribe to the statements and policies required of all Young Life staff, including the Young Life Statement of Faith.
  • Must be ready, willing, and able to fulfill ministry functions as may be required by the organization.
  • Must refrain from conduct and statements that detract from the biblical standards taught and supported by Young Life.
  • Must abide by all policies and practices of Young Life including, without limitation, those related to religious belief or ministry activities.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Young Life Mission Services in an efficient, professional manner to donors, parents, friends of Young Life, and Young Life staff and volunteers.
  • Create and maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Support the main Young Life # that directs into mission services and email requests from the contact page on younglife.org.
  • Provide timely and Christ-like basic level front line support to Young Life customers through email and phone interactions.
  • Accurately route calls to the appropriate person or department when needed.
  • Respond to and accurately route email correspondence from Staff Resources and the Young Life website to the appropriate person or department.
  • Assist donors with updates to contact information and combining duplicate records; verify accuracy of donor information on file.
  • Provide technical online giving support, including general navigation on how to give a gift, online giving account access, and password resets.
  • Handle general receipting/year-end gift summary questions or request duplicate receipts/year-end summaries.
  • Process changes to recurring gifts and accept new donations via phone.
  • Research, request, and process corrections to giving history.
  • Assist field staff with general YL Connect questions surrounding donor/database data.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all aspects of contact and financial data.
  • Maintain tracking records of calls, when necessary.
  • Perform daily Quality Control process on donor information for transactions marked special handling.
  • Ensure contact information is spelled correctly and that greetings are correct.
  • Perform donor database, Mission Directory, and Lawson database maintenance to meet input standards and database requirements.
  • Respond to and process field requests for combining duplicate account/contact records, requiring extreme accuracy and technical skills.
  • Adhere to policies on what records are allowed to be merged and maintain the integrity of the contact data.
  • Assist with various database clean-up projects and other assignments as needed.
  • Be knowledgeable on communications sent out from mission services in order to provide support to callers.
  • Sort and deliver all incoming Financial Services’ mail on a daily basis.
  • Provide backup assistance for the Financial Services’ check-run processes.
  • Review, process/distribute mail items in “Without Money Queue” from CDS on a daily basis.
  • Process address updates for undeliverable mail from mission services mailings.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • The anticipated hourly rate for this position will range from $14.30-$17.85 depending on relevant education, experience, and location.
