Mission Analyst

Globalstar Updated•Milpitas, CA

About The Position

Globalstar is seeking a Mission Analyst to perform daily orbit determination calculations and support orbit-raising operations for existing and new low Earth orbiting satellites. Several new satellites are scheduled for launch this year and next, and this role will support the establishment and maintenance of the constellation. The position uses mathematical models and AGI’s Systems Tool Kit (STK), including ODTK, to model, analyze, and simulate orbital trajectories. The Mission Analyst generates daily orbit data for satellite contacts, plans maneuvers such as orbit raising and station keeping, and supports launch operations. The role also provides 24/7 on-call troubleshooting and anomaly-resolution support and develops or maintains scripts to automate orbital analysis tasks. The role requires access to technologies and technical data subject to the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. person as defined by 15 C.F.R. § 772.1: a U.S. citizen, permanent resident alien, or protected individual.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace, Physics, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with satellite operations, orbital mechanics, astrodynamics, or spacecraft flight dynamics.
  • At least 5 years of experience with general satellite knowledge, including components, mass properties, satellite attitude, and propulsion systems.
  • Expertise in orbital mechanics and dynamics, orbit determination, ephemeris generation, and maneuver planning.
  • Experience developing and maintaining STK and ODTK using Python.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact clearly and concisely with all departments and levels of management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to identify and seek needed information.
  • Must qualify as a U.S. person under 15 C.F.R. § 772.1 because the position requires access to technologies and technical data subject to the EAR.
