About The Position

In this role, you will conduct administrative and operational investigations related to staff misconduct, resident complaints, use of force incidents, policy violations, and security-related concerns within the detention facility. You will be responsible for gathering evidence, conducting interviews, reviewing reports and surveillance footage, and preparing detailed investigative findings in accordance with government detention standards, facility policies, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong investigative skills, professionalism, sound judgment, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently within a secure detention environment while maintaining objectivity and operational integrity.

Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of specialized experience in conducting complex administrative, internal affairs, or criminal investigations, preferably within a correctional, law enforcement, or institutional detention setting.
  • Must possess a deep, working knowledge of Performance-Based National Detention Standards (PBNDS) and standard operating procedures governing the reporting, review, and documentation of use of force incidents and staff misconduct.
  • Must be able to provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization.
  • If prior active-duty military, must provide copies of DD214(s) showing discharge condition.
  • Must consent to fingerprinting.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations involving staff misconduct, resident complaints, use of force incidents, policy violations, security concerns, and operational misconduct allegations within the detention facility.
  • Review incident reports, surveillance footage, body camera footage, photographs, medical documentation, disciplinary records, and operational logs to support investigative findings.
  • Conduct interviews with residents, staff members, witnesses, contractors, medical personnel, and outside agencies regarding investigative matters and operational incidents.
  • Gather, document, preserve, and maintain evidence, investigative records, chain-of-custody documentation, and case files in accordance with facility procedures and legal requirements.
  • Prepare detailed investigative reports, summaries, findings, recommendations, and corrective action documentation for facility leadership and management review.
  • Evaluate use of force incidents to determine compliance with facility policies, government detention standards, operational procedures, and approved response protocols.
  • Coordinate with facility leadership, legal personnel, healthcare staff, security personnel, and outside law enforcement or investigative agencies regarding ongoing investigations and operational concerns.
  • Monitor trends related to staff misconduct, resident grievances, operational deficiencies, and use of force incidents while identifying potential areas for policy improvement or additional training.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure sensitive investigative information, personnel records, and resident documentation are handled securely and professionally.
  • Support audits, inspections, compliance reviews, hearings, and operational assessments related to investigations and detention facility operations.
  • Ensure all investigations are conducted objectively, professionally, and in compliance with applicable laws, facility procedures, and company policies.
  • Maintain professionalism, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and sound judgment while supporting safe, secure, and compliant detention facility operations.
