About The Position

Perform basic quality control checks, read and follow a Traveler, and utilize basic computer skills. Examine and inspect containers and products to ensure packing specifications are met. This role involves touching up paint, applying labels and tags, and testing motors. Employees must be able to manipulate large motors regularly, fold and tape boxes, apply labels, and stack boxes on pallets according to direction. The position requires performing activities planned by others, managing assembly time and tasks to ensure project completion within specified timeframes, and moving motors down the lines. Willingness to learn other jobs within the department is essential. Maintaining a clean and safe workplace in accordance with policies, 5S procedures, and Marathon Electric’s core values is also a key responsibility. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Effectively communicate and work in a team environment.
  • Accurately read and comprehend materials such as JIBS and BOM’s.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess good communication skills as well as time management skills.
  • Strong work ethic, with an above average attendance record.
  • Ability to write and record basic information.
  • Knowledge of and ability to compute basic arithmetic.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Ability to carry out one-or two-step tasks (transport, weigh, etc.)
  • Knowledge of and ability to solve problems that have standard solutions.
  • Ability to rely on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, employees regularly stand and use hands and arms for the duration of their shift.
  • Physical capabilities include, but are not limited to frequent walking and standing, occasional twisting, stooping, carrying, handling, pushing, and pulling; climbing, kneeling, and frequently lifting 20-35 lbs. and occasionally 26-50 lbs.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
