About The Position

The Final Assembly Operator is responsible for inspecting products to ensure they meet customer specifications. This role involves completing progress reports, reviewing work orders for special instructions, and ensuring the correct setup and station layout for each job. The operator will perform hand manipulation, rework damaged parts, set and verify part clearances, and use measuring instruments to verify conformance. Additionally, the operator will cut trim parts, examine workpieces for defects, and operate machines for slitting or punching material. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect products to verify conformance to customer specifications.
  • Complete Progress report – identify the job and the starting time.
  • Review the Work Order for special instructions.
  • Assure the set-up is correct for the job.
  • Assure the station layout, tags and labels are appropriate for the job.
  • Complete Sign-Off check list and have it signed by the appropriate person.
  • Inspect parts – assure patents and margins are correct with no blotches.
  • Perform hand manipulation when required – peeling waste off the part.
  • Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies.
  • Set and verify parts clearances.
  • Verify conformance of parts using measuring instruments such as punch box or templates.
  • Cut trim parts for assembly.
  • Examine completed workpieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces.
  • Set up, operate, or tend machines to slit or punch material.
  • Other duties as assigned.
