About The Position

The Final Assembly Lead will assist the department supervisor by overseeing day to day activities of the department, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring on time completion of all activities based on company priority. An individual must be able to perform all final assembly as well as being able to answer day to day piping questions pertaining to the RAE product and the training of new employees.

  • Sustained use of eyesight for functions such as visual inspection, reading, measuring and operating hand tools
  • Ability to see objects and detect motion at wide angles (peripheral vision) in order to maintain employee safety
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection)
  • Substantial movement of wrist, hands, fingers.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand and enforce safety programs and policies of RAE Corporation. Lead by example by committing to safe work practices, coach and correct unsafe behaviors, correct safety hazards and respond to employee concerns regarding hazards in their work area. Understand company obligations under the OSHA Act and comply with OSHA CFR 1910 regulations.
  • Read, understand and enforce company policies. Communicate company expectations to department employees. Provide feedback to employees regarding company policies as needed and keep supervisor informed of employee policy issues.
  • Report injuries to EHS manager timely. Work with EHS manager in correcting hazards, coordinating time off following work injuries and offer transitional duty to employees with work restrictions.
  • Assist supervisor in performance management by providing ongoing feedback in the form of coaching/correct to employees, communicating department goals, notifying supervisor of performance issues within the team, and participating in annual performance reviews.
  • Assist supervisor in coordinating training programs for new hires and ensuring new employees receive training, resources and feedback needed to become valuable members of the team.
  • Attend leadership and safety training as required.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and instructions and interpret them to people in his/her area.
  • Read and understand bills of material and interpret them to people in his/her area.
  • Use a work schedule and know where his/her department is on the production schedule at all times.
  • Cooperate and work with other departments.
  • Project a positive attitude, set a good example for his/her people and keep them productive at all times.
  • Train employees in procedure and methods of the manufacturing process.
  • Keep accurate records of completed assemblies for blanket work orders.
  • Monitor hours spent on production.
  • Monitor quality according to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Serves as the “go-to” person for most day-to-day business for NAP employees.
  • Coach, train, mentor, and informally counsel, as well as provide on-going feedback to coworkers to optimize job performance.

  • Make recommendations and give feedback on various operational matters, including input on employee performance reviews.
  • Help facilitate informal resolution of issues in their areas, such as, conflicts or disagreements with/between coworkers.
  • Keeps accurate records of completions and scrapped work.
  • Train employees in procedure and work methods.
  • Ensures manufacturing instructions are followed.
  • Complete any task as assigned by supervisor as needed.
  • Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies and company procedures.
  • Work overtime as necessary.
  • Attend work as required.
  • Arrive for work on time.
  • Follow manufacturing instructions, work by oneself without constant supervision, be self-motivated and complete job assignments on time.
  • Care for tools and equipment. Advise maintenance of equipment that is not working properly.
  • Instruct employees to maintain clean work area and maintain housekeeping.
