About The Position

The Minute Clinic Virtual Care Nurse Practitioner delivers patient care services through a remote technology platform, collaborating with a dedicated team while independently providing holistic, evidence-based care. Services include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management of health problems, health counseling, and disposition planning for patients aged 18 months and above. Care also includes pregnancy prevention, STI prevention, safer-sex practices, contraceptive counseling, and medication management.

This is a full-time overnight position of 32 hours per week, with shifts from 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The schedule includes every other Saturday and Sunday. Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted Tennessee license, live within three driving hours of Nashville or Knoxville, Tennessee, and be willing and able to obtain additional licensure as needed.

The role is delivered remotely. Providers must have broadband connectivity, a quiet setting with a neutral background, and the ability to uphold patient privacy under CVS Health guidelines. A hardwired connection is preferred. The position involves remote interaction with customers, using a computer and phone, writing, speaking intelligibly, hearing patient responses, and viewing and reading computer screens and other electronic devices.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Tennessee license; candidates must currently be licensed in Tennessee to be considered.
• Minimum of two years of medically relevant experience or equivalent.
• Completion of a Master’s Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current National Board Certification and a license in the state of employment to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role.
• Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Initiative, problem-solving ability, adaptability, and flexibility.
• Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously.
• Proficiency with information management and technology.
• Ability to collaborate with professional colleagues to provide quality care.
• Must live within three driving hours of Nashville or Knoxville, Tennessee, and be willing and able to obtain additional licensure as needed.
• Depending on the market, proficiency in speaking and writing additional languages, including but not limited to Spanish, may be required.
• Ability to meet remote-care delivery requirements, including broadband connectivity, a quiet setting with a neutral background, and compliance with patient privacy guidelines.

• Ability to hardwire into the internet connection is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, evidence-based care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, health-problem management, health counseling, and disposition planning.
• Evaluate primary care, acute, chronically ill, and transitional care patients aged 18 months and above; provide healthcare education, counseling, and disposition planning.
• Counsel patients on pregnancy prevention, STI prevention and safer-sex practices, contraceptive care, and medication management.
• Educate patients on health maintenance and respond to patient-care inquiries.
• Document patient care in an EHR according to MinuteClinic policies and procedures.
• Coordinate patient care with internal and external colleagues, including the broader patient-centered medical home, to ensure a high standard of care.
• Work effectively with Providers, Collaborative Physicians, paraprofessionals, Pharmacists, and other healthcare team members.
• Work independently, prioritize and solve problems, take initiative, and advocate for patients and the practice.
