The Mine Engineer, under the direction of the Chief Engineer, performs short term mine production planning and scheduling, development and infrastructure design, mine ventilation design, ground control design, surveying, production quantity calculations and month end mine production reporting. The role involves training and working as a full-time mine surveyor for a period before transitioning to full-time engineering duties. Responsibilities include both surveying tasks such as measuring underground features, processing survey data, and delineating boundaries, as well as engineering tasks like mine planning, design of various mine elements, overseeing projects, budget preparation, cost estimation, tracking costs, and ensuring technical deliverables meet expectations. The engineer will also work with mine services, assist with ground control engineering, optimize explosives utilization, and ensure compliance with MSHA, environmental, and company regulations.
