About The Position

Turner Industries Energy Services is seeking Millwrights for maintenance work in the Whiting, Indiana area. The role installs and/or maintains machinery and equipment in industrial establishments according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions. It is a non-exempt position that reports to the Foreman. Duties are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
One to four years of experience in the specified skill, depending on mechanic level.
Some job sites may require NCCER certification.
Complete a post-offer drug and alcohol screen and physical evaluation, and sign acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy.
Comply with company and client job-site safety requirements.
Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Dismantle machines and move machinery and equipment.
Assemble and install equipment, including shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines, and blowers.
Align machines and equipment using the reverse alignment method.
Assemble machines and fasten them to foundations or other structures by bolting, welding, riveting, or other methods.
Operate an engine lathe as needed to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.
Repair and lubricate machines and equipment as needed.
Participate in grouting activities for equipment base plates as needed.
Remove plant equipment, disassemble it, repair it, and reinstall it.
Perform additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
