Requirements

An excellent safety and attendance record.
Previous mechanical maintenance experience (diagnosing, repairing, installing and maintaining industrial equipment.
Fabrication skills that include torching, welding, and blueprint reading.
Good communication skills with an ability to work within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

A basic understanding of PLC’s, HMI’s, and electromechanical equipment that will aid in troubleshooting with the caster electrical maintenance team.
Technical training and certifications.
Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, grease systems, gearing, gear alignment, rigging, overhead cranes, pendant cranes, and precision instruments.

Responsibilities

Maintain a safe work environment.
Operating mobile equipment, troubleshooting and repairing systems: (Combustion systems, fluid power systems, mechanical power transmission systems, water systems, pneumatic systems, etc.).
Lead and perform repairs to the departmental equipment.
Mechanical maintenance in various areas of the mill.
Working with the department Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, Maintenance Foreman/Supervisors, other Millwrights, Electricians, Shift Supervisors, and Operators to drive the department production goals.
Focus will be on safety and assisting operations as needed to ensure uptime and reliability.
All other duties as required.
