About The Position

The Millwright supports production by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery and mechanical systems. This role is the primary contact for issues related to production lines, equipment, and other mechanical systems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Requirements

  • Red Seal Certification (Interprovincial Qualification) is required
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is required
  • Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
  • Proficient in precision machining, welding, and fabrication
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment malfunctions
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of risk management
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with plastics or converting machinery is considered an asset
  • Background in work planning and continuous improvement is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspections of machinery to ensure proper operation
  • Clean and lubricate equipment as part of routine maintenance
  • Identify and correct mechanical issues to minimize downtime
  • Remove and replace defective parts as needed
  • Install new machinery and ensure proper setup
  • Educate production staff on preventative maintenance practices
  • Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Carry out welding, fabrication, and general machining tasks
  • Recommend future repairs and improvements to equipment
  • Create and submit requests for necessary parts and supplies
  • Promote a collaborative and inclusive work environment that supports teamwork and mutual respect
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager
