About The Position
Millwrights are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in various settings, ensuring operational efficiency and safety. This role involves maintaining all plant mechanical equipment, including installation and modification of new or old equipment. The job also includes troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, maintaining plant facilities for safety, performing preventive maintenance, managing parts supply, assisting other trades, and performing construction, pipe-fitting, and welding as needed. The position requires keeping machinery and work areas neat, clean, and orderly, and adhering to safety and shop rules.
Requirements
- Be able to read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematic circuits.
- Be able to do pipefitting and layout work along with light construction and welding.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all plant mechanical equipment.
- Installation and modification of new or old equipment.
- Maintain and repair all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Trouble-shoot all mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Maintain plant facilities as to safety requirements.
- Perform mechanical preventive maintenance of all equipment as assigned.
- Maintain parts supply for use in equipment.
- Assist other trades in repairing, installing and trouble-shooting plant equipment.
- Be able to do needed construction and pipe-fitting-welding.
- Keep assigned machinery and work area neat, clean and orderly.
- Follow safety and shop rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Uses appropriate safety measures.
- Uses appropriate measurement equipment and techniques as trained.
- Records and maintains documentation and data as required.
- Follows applicable work instructions.
- Use good housekeeping skills to maintain the work area.
- Follows directions and instructions of all supervisory personnel.
- Maintains good relations with co-workers, management and visitors.
