About The Position

American Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 450+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the 3rd Shift Millwright / Industrial Maintenance Technician role in our Marysville, CA facility. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will operate in a safe and efficient manner of troubleshooting and repairing equipment and machinery. The primary duties include performing scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and providing emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production. This role also involves preparing and setting up machinery for scheduled production runs, and performing all maintenance work including, but not limited to, Bearings and power transmission including chain drives and gearboxes, Motors, Low Voltage electrical, VFD’s, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines. The technician will also be responsible for PMs and repair of all plant and mobile equipment. Additionally, they may be assigned to repair over-the-road material and delivery trailers, general building maintenance, and other onsite maintenance needs. The role requires reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders, and safely operating mobile equipment including forklift, front end loader, and yard jockey/trailer combination. The technician must also comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules, be responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and organization of the maintenance department, communicate with supervisor and other maintenance personnel, and coordinate and administer company policies as they relate to the maintenance department. Attendance and participation in monthly safety meetings, establishing personal goals, and working towards continuous improvement and teamwork are expected. The ability to use CMMS for work logging and demonstrate good time management skills by completing scheduled assignments on time are also key aspects of this position. Support the Maintenance Manager with other initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of related experience in industrial maintenance
  • Mechanical and machinery background with exposure to high-speed equipment
  • Electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics knowledge
  • Basic welding experience
  • PLC troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics
  • Must have personal set of basic tools & be able to work outside when necessary
  • Ability to work independently
