About The Position

Install, inspect, repair, PM and maintain all mechanical equipment except forming machines. This role requires a working knowledge of Fire Suppression systems and Compressed Air systems, including troubleshooting and repair. The position involves working in various environments, including areas with heights, small work areas, and confined spaces, requiring the use of fall protection, respirators, gloves, face shields, and other PPE. Responsibilities include rigging all types of equipment to meet structural standards, performing various types of welding to code, and occasional plumbing work. The role also demands a good understanding of different water systems and their maintenance, as well as the construction and repair of sheet metal work, including guards, patterns, and duct work. Additionally, the Millwright-Welder will repair/install robot tooling, conveyors, and unscramblers, and understand proper sizing and specifications for bearings, sleeves, key ways, and pulleys. A working knowledge of Cracked Gas, Heating Gas, Process Gas, process steam, and Reactor firing is also required, along with experience in maintaining gas dryers, gas filters, heat exchangers, instrumentation, and gas pressure systems, including running various types of piping. Maintaining quality and always following Lock Out, Tag Out procedures are essential. Other duties may be assigned by supervision.

  • Perform work of satisfactory quality and quantity in accordance with plant operating procedures.
  • Maintain overall quality awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, repair, PM and maintain all mechanical equipment except forming machines.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Fire Suppression systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair Compressed Air systems.
  • Work in areas involving heights, small work areas, confined space, use fall protection, respirator, gloves, face shield, and other PPE.
  • Rig all types of equipment including batch elevator belts, structural steel, motors, pumps, fans to meet structural standards.
  • Perform Lehr work including end roller swap/repair, drive roller swap/repair, Lehr chain repair/replace.
  • Perform complex welding in all types of formats and situations, understanding the correct welding rod, gas, and ventilation needed, and adhering to code.
  • Occasionally drain glass from tanks, feeder drain or perform plumber work.
  • Determine tools, equipment and materials required for each project.
  • Understand the reasoning behind different water systems, make repairs, and maintain production using correct back up systems (soft water, well water, city water, cullet water, throat, cooling towers, respective pumping systems, and emergency back up systems).
  • Build, install, repair & maintain all sheet metal work, including the construction of guards, patterns, duct work.
  • Repair / Install Robot tooling, cullet conveyors, single line conveyors, unscramblers.
  • Understand proper sizing and specifications for bearings, sleeves, key ways, pulleys.
  • Work with Cracked Gas, Heating Gas, Process Gas, process steam, Reactor firing.
  • Maintain gas dryers, gas filters, heat exchangers, instrumentation, gas pressure and usage point evaluation.
  • Run piping, including black iron, stainless, PVC, copper, and Victaulic.
  • Maintain quality.
  • Always follow Lock Out, Tag Out procedures.
  • Do other work as assigned by supervision.
