About The Position

Fabricates, installs, and repairs machinery and equipment in an industrial establishment by performing the following duties. Follows safe operating procedures, maintains 5S standards, and performs PM activities as required. Communicates with co-workers from previous and following shifts to discuss problems and concerns and actively participates in continuous improvement activities. Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. Fabricates, assembles, and installs equipment such as automation, material handling devices, shafting, and conveyors. Installs and maintains building, grounds, utilities, air conditioning systems, and compressed air systems. Repairs and maintains material handling devices, including hoists, carts, and forklifts. Operates a lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications. Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment. Orders supplies with a purchase requisition according to the work order assigned through the Maintenance Supervisor. Closes out work orders upon completion. Observes and listens to mechanical devices in operation to troubleshoot any issues. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Examines the form and texture of mechanical parts to detect imperfections. Inspects used mechanical parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements. Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments. Repairs and replaces defective mechanical parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts. Starts devices to test their performance. Records maintenance actions performed in a computerized maintenance system. Completes other tasks within the job classification as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor. Assists other associates as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Supports Engineering with projects.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in mechanical-related field or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Know what it takes to have a safe workplace.
