About The Position

The Central Arizona Project (CAP) is seeking a Millwright Mechanic for its Waddell Pumping Plant in Peoria, AZ. This role is responsible for the operational availability, efficient operation, and maintenance of large pumping plants, generation stations, check structures, and turnouts. Responsibilities include performing overhauls, installations, modifications, troubleshooting, and predictive and preventative maintenance of plant equipment and systems, as well as local plant operations. This position is subject to call-outs for operational emergencies, and work assignments may be throughout the CAP system in Arizona. Requirements

Completed a related state or federal certified Mechanical Apprenticeship; or possessing the equivalent combination of education, related experience and demonstrated ability.
At least three (3) years of journeyman-level work experience in an industrial mechanical environment with technical and specialized knowledge.
Valid driver's license.
Good driving record.
High school diploma (or GED).

Responsibilities

Operational availability, efficient operation and maintenance of large pumping plants, generation stations, check structures and turnouts.
Perform overhauls, installations, modifications, troubleshooting and predictive and preventative maintenance of plant equipment and systems.
Perform local plant operations.
Respond to call-outs for a variety of operational emergencies on and off hours.
Work assignments primarily at pumping plants and other system facilities in a specific geographic area, but may be assigned to work at other locations across the Central Arizona Project system as needs dictate.
