Requirements

High School diploma
Three to five years’ experience in the industrial maintenance areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, millwright principles, pipe fitting and blueprint reading.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/programs, schematics, prints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and use a systematic approach in troubleshooting and solving problems.

Responsibilities

Read detailed drawings and specifications for building and industrial equipment.
Disassemble and assemble for repairs of all types of equipment and machinery, using hand tools, tradesman's tools, and welding equipment.
Installation of plumbing for gas, water, steam, and hydraulic lines.
Perform preventive maintenance on machines and equipment and fill out required forms and reports.
Operate machine and hand tools to grind, shape, fabricate, and alter equipment parts.
Weld, braze, and machine parts, metals, and equipment.
Install and relocate equipment as required.
Perform other associated duties as directed by supervisor.
Repair malfunctions to the coinage chlorine system as a Secondary Emergency Responder.
Assess, stop, and repair minor chlorine leaks.
Complete all emergency response tasks as directed by either the Department Supervision or the Emergency Coordinator.
Be fit tested in the use of company supplied respiratory protection equipment unless medically disqualified by the company physician.
Involvement with lean and quality team concepts.
