Works Repairers require a broad knowledge of general maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment in a heavy industry environment including: mechanical, hydraulics, and welding applications. The Works Repairers' essential functions include installing, repairing, adjusting, modifying, and maintaining all types of mechanical and electrical/electronic instrument equipment, communication systems, and meter relay systems throughout the plant. This role performs all duties required of a plant mechanic, pipefitter, and welder. The position involves installing, testing, repairing, inspecting, adjusting, and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, gas, and chemical systems, and heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Responsibilities also include preparing and mixing agents for refrigeration and coolants, operating equipment for material transport and maintenance, and disconnecting/reconnecting motors and instruments for HVAC and refrigeration units. The role requires working from blueprints, diagrams, and charts for installation and repair, transporting equipment to various shops, operating the waste water/sewage disposal plant, and inspecting/operating cranes and mobile equipment. Lubrication of equipment and preparation of lubrication reports are also key duties. A working knowledge of welding properties of various metals and welding techniques is necessary. The position emphasizes maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety procedures, and quality workmanship. Entering and completing work orders in CMMS (MAXIMO) is required, along with other assigned duties and compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
