The role… Must be semi-proficient in mechanical work, machinery set-up, rigging, metal burning, welding, rough carpentry, masonry, piping, etc. Must have knowledge in the basic operation of boilers and a basic understanding of hydraulics, and compressed air systems.

Requirements

  • High School/Trade School Diploma required with 3 years of minimum experience.
  • Must be able to deal with fractions and decimals, work with both English and Metric measurement systems, and must have knowledge and experience in multiple crafts such as those listed.
  • Must be experienced in working with hand tools, some welding equipment, cutting torch, fork lift, chain hoist, slings, jacks, etc.
  • Must be able to provide own hand tools. Welding equipment and torches will be provided by the company along with a wide assortment of hand tools pertaining to WEIDMANN’s needs.
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements in accordance with the Essential Function Job Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • This position involves significant industrial maintenance responsibilities, including handling hazardous waste as part of standard operating procedures.
  • Must understand and accept the fact that although this is primarily a 40-hour-per-week role, overtime, weekend work, call-ins, and occasional work on holidays are required to meet manufacturing needs.
  • Report for work on time and work collaboratively with others in a manufacturing environment.
  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all OSHA standards and industrial safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with manufacturing best practices and 5S standards.
  • All company tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment must be used properly and returned to their proper storage when not in use.
  • Employees in this role may be required to enter confined spaces as part of the maintenance and repair process. Confined Space Entry training is required every three years.
  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure continuous production and optimal performance.
  • Work to ensure that products, services, and production processes meet both defined and anticipated customer expectations.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) procedures in a manufacturing facility to ensure compliance and reduce risks.
  • Understand and perform duties in alignment with customer specifications and business objectives in the manufacturing environment.
  • Ensure that any defects, errors, or issues in equipment, materials, procedures, or production processes are identified, reported, and addressed quickly to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Provide support for continuous improvement projects, offering input on preventative and corrective actions to improve machinery reliability and production performance.
  • Have the responsibility to halt or adjust maintenance processes or manufacturing workflows if they are not achieving planned results, ensuring quality and equipment uptime.
