About The Position

The purpose of the Milling CNC Operator is to take rough cut components and to mill precise dimensions and details that prepare the components to be assembled into the final product. CNC Milling is where the rough materials begin to take shape into guitars. Team members are required to have a great attention to detail and intimate knowledge of the types, and properties of wood. Milling is where a Gibson Guitar begins and is a vital process in the creation of a guitar that is both beautiful and has that distinct Gibson Sound.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Outstanding time management skillset with the ability to prioritize without direct supervision.
Develop a strong understanding of all guitar models.
Results oriented and driven, with a track record for delivering to plan.
Must be 18 years of age or older.

Nice To Haves

Intimate knowledge of the types and properties of wood.

Responsibilities

Learn and execute standard operating procedures.
Safely operate complex CNC machinery.
Perform routine checks for safety and quality on all tools associated with machines.
Inspect incoming wood for cracks, color grading, and grain defects.
Achieve a 95% pass rate based on production requirements.
Operate to a set weekly output schedule.
Understand and meet quality standards (Specs.).
Maintain product flow at an appropriate rate.
Adhere to department protocols (5S and Safety).
Adhere to the Gibson Cardinal Safety Rules as per the Gibson Playbook for Cardinal Safety Rules and General Safety Rules.
Submit safety observations for identified hazards using the safety observation QR code.
Support the comprehensive Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure a safe work environment, maintain compliance with regulations, and improvement of our safety processes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
