About The Position

West Fraser is a diversified North American wood products company. The Mill Support Technician helps maintain safety, cleanliness, and environmental compliance in the mill while training in production roles to understand plant operations and support career growth. The role works in a team environment in an industrial wood manufacturing setting and may include cross-training in operational jobs.

Requirements

Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent education.
Be able to work a minimum eight-hour day shift, with overtime as necessary.
Desire to grow and progress in a career.
Be willing to move into a 12-hour rotating production schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work effectively as part of a team and deliver value to the team.
Be willing and able to cross-train and learn new jobs and skills.
Be reliable and maintain consistent, predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

Maintain housekeeping in an industrial wood manufacturing environment as part of a team.
Collect and dispose of wood scrap, flakes, and dust.
Use mobile equipment to dispose of material, including removing dunnage.
Use vacuum and sweeper equipment for cleanup when needed.
Assist with down-day housekeeping tasks, including ice blasting the press and cleaning the press pit.
Train in operational roles, understand new processes and ideas, and demonstrate developmental progression.
Perform other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the leadership team.
