About The Position

The Mill Operator is responsible for the manufacturing of livestock feed and all related paperwork. This role also involves loading/unloading trucks, customer service, grounds and equipment maintenance, warehouse maintenance, forklift operation, and grain handling. The second shift runs approximately 4:00 pm to 2:00 am, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• Understanding of safe working conditions and operations of vehicles.
• Willingness and ability to work well with others, to take and give constructive criticism, and to lend a helping hand.
• Ability to use analytical techniques for problem solving, coordination, and decision making.
• Must be team oriented.
• Possess great attention to detail.
• Must be able to work independently and efficiently with little or no supervision.
• Driven, organized, and punctual.

Nice To Haves

• Agriculture background a plus.
• Mechanical interest and aptitude are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture livestock feed and complete all related paperwork.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Provide customer service.
• Perform grounds and equipment maintenance.
• Perform warehouse maintenance.
• Operate forklift.
• Handle grain.
• Assist other mill employees with operating activities.
• Operate scales for inbound and outbound trucks.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance, including housekeeping.
• Understand feed ingredients and proper handling techniques.
• Accurately distribute feed directly to a feed truck.
• Operate equipment safely.
• Follow all laws, regulations, and safety rules.
• Properly complete necessary paperwork and records.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
