About The Position

SEMO Milling has an exciting opportunity for a Mill Lead! This position is responsible for providing leadership and training on a specific shift within the mill production area, reporting to the Mill Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize mill yield and throughput.
  • Organize shift personnel in all facets of mill production.
  • Provide machinery expertise for each process equipment item.
  • Make on-line process control decisions as required and directed.
  • Coordinate with Lab personnel to ensure production quality specifications are within guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot operational and machinery problems.
  • Develop key indicators to measure quality, productivity, and utilization.
  • Train operators and support personnel as needed.
  • Create a team working environment within area.
  • Evaluate performance of operations.
  • Utilize the IMS and SPC where applicable.
  • Responsible for quality of work within area.
  • Maintain work environment in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Actively engaged in continuous improvement programs such as SOP’s.
  • Follow all Personnel Safety policies/procedures, including the use of proper PPE, as well as ensure the safe use of required tools and equipment.
  • Follow all Food Safety, Quality Assurance, GMP's, Sanitation and general plant policies/procedures.
  • Inspect products for overall appearance according to customer and QA/Food Safety requirements and communicate with supervisor when non-conforming products are present.
  • Communicate all safety or environmental issues to supervisors/managers.
  • At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for documenting process parameters and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Ensure all regulatory compliance.
  • Follow established Human Resources procedures.
  • Ensure proper training and adherence to area SOP’s.
  • Assist with evaluating the performance of subordinates.
  • Create a team working environment.
  • Develop key indicators to measure quality and productivity.
  • Open Communications to be a team-player and do other tasks as necessary.
