Mill I Cold Saw Operator
About The Position
The Cold Saw Operator will be responsible for the safe operations of the Surge bed, Cold Saws, Gauge Head and Roll Lines. The Cold Saw Operator must develop a working knowledge of Cut Sheets and Cut Patterns to be able to assist the Cold Saw Recorder in filling the customer’s orders. The Cold Saw Operator will make basic repairs to the Cold Saw area and assist maintenance teammates with repairs to all equipment in the finishing bay as needed (welding, cutting and assorted hand tools). The Cold Saw Operator must have basic rigging skills to change cold saw blades and re-hub blades for future blade changes. All finishing teammates are expected to help with housekeeping in their area and where needed in the Finishing bay. The Cold Saw Operator will work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Nice To Haves
- Previous NYS 1 finishing experience
- Knowledge of tracking and product order information system
- Working knowledge of NYS 1 rolling process
- Previous welding experience or certification
Responsibilities
